Bhang Chai and other Bhang drinks are some of the most exotic drinks in the world, with sometimes many spices and a rich variety of ground nuts in a single intoxicating sweet cannabis milk preparation! It is served in India in cities like Benares, Pushkar and other places. It is most famous for being used on a special night of the year known as Shiva Ratri as well as the Festival of Colors known as ‘Holi’. Spiced Bhang milk is made in most homes and consumed by people of all ages and castes, used often for health, in social gatherings, as well as spiritual practices and celebrations. Saffron has been used for thousands of years as a symbol of royalty. However, it is not just for its bright inspiring color and unique, exotic taste. Saffron also has been used in herbal remedies and formulations for supporting digestion and libido, relief of depression, as well as an appetite suppressant. Both the almonds as well as the saffron mixed with the rich herbal infused mix create a wonderful drink for your very own high time. The recipe below offers a dairy-free recipe with lots of flavor and potency. Best shared among friends! Date-Almond milk on its own is delicious. When the Raw almonds are soaked and peeled, it becomes even more tasty. Almond Date-milk, served with saffron and mixed with a rich bhang chai is an experience of it’s own.
